Hate to do it, but bills force the sale of my 1949 GMC 100 1/2 ton short bed pickup truck. These are such cool trucks and doubt I will ever find one this solid again. Keep it as is and drive the wheels off of it, take it back to bone stock, or make it street rod. This truck can go any direction you like. The truck has very little rust. There is some mild rust in front of the drivers door, but very light. Floorboards and running boards are super solid as well as under the truck. The motor is the original GMC inline 6 and starts right up the second you step on the floor start and runs cool and like a sewing machine. The wiring has been converted to 12 volt with a one wire GM alternator for charging. A new battery was installed less then 3 month ago. The interior has been refinished in the last few years. Seat is comfortable and recovered. Door panels display real nice as well. The headliner sags a bit, but still very presentable. Black short loop automotive carpet on the floorboard very nice as well. All glass in the truck is clear and crack free. The bed floor is covered with steel, but has the wood under. Could remove the steel and go with the wood and steel strips. The rear end has been converted to an open rear end rather than the closed rear end. Not original, but easier to work on and more functional. The tail gate on the truck has had a piece of metal attached to the outside, but the tailgate has the original GMC lettering on it and a person could remove the outer panel and have a nice original looking tailgate if they prefer. Options on truck are an interior courtesy light, working heater, sunvisor and turn signals. The only thing this truck needs is the front brake cylinders installed and possibly shoes. The wheel cylinders have been bought and are included with the sale of the truck. Just have not had time to get truck to shop or work on them myself. Should be an easy fix. The truck will fire right up and drive on a trailer. AS before, I hate to sell it, but need the $. The classic is being sold as is, where is, which is southern Kansas, with clear Kansas title. The truck is also for sale locally and if my price is reached, it will sale. Give me a call to discuss anything about this truck. Mike 316-323-4737
